Dot Kolam ("the app") is a drawing app for kolam and rangoli designs. This page explains what data the app does, and does not, handle.
Dot Kolam does not require you to sign up or log in, and it does not send your drawings, designs, or any personal information to any server. The app has no backend — everything happens on your own device.
Your saved designs, gallery, and app preferences (grid size, colours, theme, etc.) are stored locally on your device only, using your browser's or device's local storage. This data:
When saving or sharing a finished design (image or video) from the Android/iOS app, Dot Kolam briefly writes a file to the app's private cache folder and hands it to your device's normal share sheet (e.g. to save to your Photos/Gallery app or share to another app). Dot Kolam does not read, browse, or have ongoing access to your photo library beyond that one save/share action, and no file ever leaves your device through us.
Dot Kolam does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs at this time. No usage data, device identifiers, or behavioural data is collected or shared with any third party.
A future version of the app may include optional, non-intrusive advertising (such as a rewarded ad to unlock a feature) through a standard ad network (e.g. Google AdMob). If and when that is introduced, this page will be updated first to describe exactly what that network collects and how, and the in-app Play Store listing's Data Safety section will be updated to match.
Dot Kolam does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all — there is nothing to collect, regardless of age.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new version will be posted at this same address.
